Marble is alive. It is a metamorphic rock composed mainly of calcium carbonate that, being natural, breathes and transpires. Cleaning this material requires special attention since, due to its porous conformation, it is damaged by the use of anti-lime products or other acidic substances. Marble, as well as granite and other natural stones, is in fact particularly absorbent therefore the use of warm water, neutral detergents and soft cloth are sufficient for cleaning, thus maintaining its original splendor and characteristics.
